Working with a psychotherapist can be a powerful process that can reduce stress and promote a more meaningful, balanced sense of who you are, how you came to be that way, and what you'd like to do differently.
As a psychotherapist, my goal is to help you take a look at yourself, your relationships, and provide insight into the reactional patterns that might be blocking you from having the life you want for yourself as well as the relationships you want with loved ones, friends and colleagues. Additionally, as a certified Amen Method Professional, the brain-body connection within the context of your relationships and the scope of your responses to life's challenges is considered an important part of your treatment.
This is a supportive process and we go at your pace and attend to the things that matter to you most. The two orientations I work from primarily as a therapist are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. The former is excellent for equipping you with tools for a healthy thought life and the latter looks at how you've been resourceful and resilient in the past and how those strengths can assist you now.
We also look at your level of stress and coping styles and assist in providing you with the tools to assess, adapt, and change so that you are living a healthy, fulfilled, balanced life at work and home. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
Sometimes just the experience of talking about the changing of a close relationship or an intense experience you've had can help you decide how you feel about that issue, deal with it, and then, when you're ready, move in a new direction. Working with a therapist can also help you to explore options and identify ways of dealing with complex matters that might not have been apparent prior to treatment.
We all go through transitions, and challenges come even to those who are living wisely and making good decisions. Come join the healing process of therapeutic counseling and get the support and consultation you need.
