The demands placed on the men and women employed in the San Francisco Bay Area's public safety industry are complex and ever-changing. Long hours, a fast-paced work environment, and the myriad of challenges that our public safety personnel face can have a dramatic impact on them as individuals as well as on their families. Sometimes our lives can get out of balance when work consumes us, and those closest to us can feel like we aren't available to them or as attentive as we used to be.
Sometimes we find ourselves so immersed in a high-energy career that we have lost sight of what is most important to us and we're not sure how to find our way back. Critical incident stress can also play a part in moving us away from the people we love and toward isolation and "combat fatigue." Depression, anxiety, and self-destructive behaviors can result from leaving critical incident stress unattended to, but this doesn't have to be the end result.
As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you take a look at your relationships and provide insight into the reactional patterns that might be blocking you from having the relationships you want with loved ones, friends and colleagues. We also look at your level of stress and coping styles and assist in providing you with the tools to assess, adapt, and change so that you are living a healthy, fulfilled, balanced life at work and home. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
Please call or email me for an individual, couples or family therapy consultation today.
